Honolulu Board of Water Supply collects GPS data:

Have you ever seen someone with a BWS shirt and yellow backpack with a strange antenna sticking out?  Don't be alarmed, more than likely it's the Honolulu Board of Water Supply's (BWS) consultant from Woolpert Inc. collecting Global Positioning System (GPS) data!  

The BWS has hired a consultant to collect GPS data and other attribute information for BWS fire hydrants, valves and water meters around the island. This information will help ensure that you receive the best service that you expect from the BWS!

GPS data collection is occurring in the areas shown in red while green indicates completed areas. The GPS Area numbers signify the order in which the data will be collected. As you can see in the enlarged picture, the GPS data collection will continue clock-wise around the island to approximately the Ward Avenue area.  Currently the BWS consultants are not collecting GPS data, they may continue sometime in the future.  Please check back with this website to see when and where they will be collecting GPS data next.

The people collecting the GPS data should be wearing an orange BWS shirt, have a BWS photo identification and carry a letter from the Manager describing what they are doing. In the performance of their duties, the Woolpert Inc. staff will be working within the public right-of-way possibly near your property. It is not the intent of anyone to trespass, disturb or encroach upon your private property.
